Melchi Vepouyoum is a singer-songwriter from Cameroon who has been living in Bonn for several years. He sings in his native language Bamoun and the youth language Camfranglais, a mixture of English, French, and local Cameroonian languages, as well as in French and English. In his songs, Melchi recounts his experiences in his parents' village and his youth in the big city. In doing so, he describes the current realities of Cameroonian society, from daily life in the villages and the situation of women and children to the importance of solidarity and love.
