It’s bound to go wrong, good luck, fingers crossed: a bunch of people gather on stage. They’ve got something in mind. They set fire to water. They laugh themselves silly. They clash, miss the mark, don’t know what to do next, but they really do give it a go.
Their tasks are both possible and impossible. They fail at them, together and alone, again and again. People are used to this. They stumble and get back on their feet. In the theatre, on stage, usually everything goes to plan, but not this time. Does theatre fail because of human nature?
At the beginning, the stage is empty. At the end: puddles of coffee, sequins, plastic hair, something lost here, something trampled there. In between, a scene of persistent endeavour unfolds.
