Diasporic Resonances – Sharing
Israel Akpan Sunday, Isabel Wamig, Wenta Ghebrehiwet
In the interdisciplinary research and performance project »Diasporic Resonances«, Nigerian choreographer, dancer and musician Israel Akpan Sunday, together with Isabel Wamig and Wenta Ghebrehiwet, explores the impact of coups d'état, i.e. moments of political upheaval, on the bodies of the African diaspora.
On 13 December, the artistic team invites the audience to experience some of the questions, emotions, movements and stories that emerge from this investigation.
The sharing is organised as a »Town Hall Meeting«, a kind of citizens' assembly in which all those present are invited to an open and respectful exchange. The focus here is on the active participation of all those present and the opportunity to engage critically and discursively with the underlying issues and problems.
