Dronetale
A science fiction fable about insects, drones and other fairies of the Ruhr region by sticky fragments
DRONETALE – a science-fiction fable set in post-industrial ecosystems teeming with shimmering butterflies, drones and evening primroses. Where glitching bugs, dragonflies and other fairies encounter one another on slumbering, green spoil heaps. Through collective storytelling and creative exploration, DRONETALE crafts poetic visions of a harmonious coexistence between humans, nature and technology – narrated by three performers and a drone.
DRONETALE – a transdisciplinary physical theatre project that combines digital arts, electronic music and the natural sciences.
The production is aimed at a cross-generational audience aged fourteen and over.
By applying the ‘Aesthetics of Access’ – a practice whereby accessibility is integrated into the artistic production from the outset as an artistic imperative – DRONETALE aims to be equally accessible to blind, visually impaired and sighted audiences. To this end, we are collaboratively developing a creative, integrated audio description and creating a multi-sensory, virtually enhanced stage space.
