DUETT. Ein Tanzstück zur Bewegung des Hörens

In their respective solos, three performers make the music their duet partner: they listen to it and react to what they hear - in all subjectivity. They dance with the music, but also to it, against it, anticipating or delaying it. They confront the pathos of classical music with their own perception and interpretation and create a fragile coexistence of listening and movement: When does the listening body nestle up to the music and where does a friction arise, caused by the need to distance oneself from it, to move away from it, to be next to it but not with it. The audience of "DUETT" is invited to experience for themselves how they hear music when they see it and to look at how music moves different bodies.

Jenny Beyer studied at the Hamburg Ballet School and at Codarts/Rotterdam. Her work, mainly anchored at Kampnagel and K3 Tanzplan Hamburg, stands for the inclusion and engagement of audience members through regular open rehearsals. Based on the way she works, she questions parameters of mediation and audience participation and tries to a) discuss and b) redefine them in dialogue with rehearsal audience. She already focused on collaborative work with the international artist initiative Sweet&Tender Collaborations, which she co-founded in 2007, and the project "Treffen Total" that was a follow-up in 2010. Since her residency at K3 |Tanzplan in 2007, Hamburg has been her production base. From then on she has produced 11 touring pieces, which have been shown at the Spring Dance Festival/Utrecht and the Impulstanz Festival/Vienna, among others, and co-produced with Kampnagel Hamburg and with Theater Freiburg. Since 2012 she is choreographer and rehearsal director of the Hamburg band Deichkind.

"DUETT" had its opening night in 2014 in Hamburg at Kampnagel, and will be revived and reworked in cooperation with KUB after almost 10 years on the occasion of the Tanzland sponsorship of the German Federal Cultural Foundation. In the original cast Nina Wollny danced to Ballade Op. 23, and for the revival Chihiro Araki takes over the part.

The play is suitable for all from 12 years.
