PowerStrangers – touching the not yet – is an immersive physical theatre production with integrated, creative audio description.
In PowerStrangers, we look at our coexistence in the future perfect tense: Who will we have been? What will remain of us? And then we ask: Who do we want to have been? What utopias of community can we find? To this end, we visit liminal places in the Ruhr region: wastelands, railway stations, slag heaps, interstitial spaces and vacant buildings. With their inscribed memories, their empty spaces, their unwritten future, these places in transition offer potential for our community.
We dig in the soil, feel the stories, invent the forgotten, take a bird's-eye view, listen to the hustle and bustle of the train station, dance at night-time bus stops. On the wastelands, we encounter ourselves in time.
