Irgendwas mit Wasser und Solidarität

Sprechchor Dortmund

Speech choir workshop for everyone

Choral speaking is solidarity in sound. The individual voice is only powerful, fragile, moving or irritating in harmony with the others. But this harmony is not ‘solid’, but liquid, fluid. It can be a wall, like in a stadium – and yet disintegrate as quickly as a wave. The voices bubble apart and come together again. In a speaking choir, we belong together, listen to each other and to one another in a light, flowing connection.

In this workshop, we want to create a speaking choir together, using our voices and the flowing sound of the lap steel guitar. Let's break down the boundaries. Everyone can join in, no experience necessary.

NeuroQueer Vortex

Queeres Theater Kollektiv

Show & Tell about digital stage practice

An interactive showcase brings to life how the intermedia performance ‘NeuroQueer-Vortex’ combines immersive stage technologies – from live cameras to digital light and sound design – with neuroqueer aesthetics to create a fluid space for experimentation. Digital worlds and neuroqueer identities merge to form new forms of expression. In an open Q&A session, perspectives on the interplay of technology, identity and aesthetic practice are explored – beyond normative ideas and towards new spaces of possibility.

The Queere Theater Kollektiv works interdisciplinarily between performance, digital art, technology and socio-political practice. With a focus on queer-feminist perspectives, it develops new aesthetic formats of digital performance art. For the festival, Darbyn Kalkuhl (artistic director) and Kevin Clever (digital artist & technical director) provide insights into the artistic and technological practice of the production ‘NeuroQueer Vortex.’ Darbyn Kalkuhl combines conceptual direction with body-based performance practice; Kevin Clever designs interactive systems and visual stage spaces between theatre, coding and design.
