Beyond Gravity 2023

Festival for Digital Arts,
Dance and Performance

Beyond Gravity – ideas that transcend gravity: the new festival founded by Theater im Depot, which will take place for the first time in November 2023, combines dance and performance with digital arts. It is being developed in cooperation with the Academy for Theatre and Digitality and will take place both at Theater im Depot and at the Academy for Theatre and Digitality.

Performances and installations will be presented over two weekends, from 17 to 26 November. The festival's themes will also be reflected in a discursive programme planned for 25 and 26 November as part of the festival.

The first edition in 2023 will focus on augmented reality, virtual reality and immersive works that explore the possibilities of digital and hybrid spaces and digital tools for developing novel performance situations. A key theme will be artistic positions that address aspects of posthumanism and the fusion of organic and artificial life.
